Types and advantages of transparent sheets
Transparent sheets are products that meet the needs of savings and aesthetics, allowing natural lighting, where it is possible to take advantage of the sun’s rays, and consequently improving the environment inside a building.
Industrial or recreational buildings must in fact have an adequate lighting system which, in most cases, is provided by artificial sources. Transparent sheets allow the creation of bright roofing and roofs that, depending on the material used, solve design problems, combining a delicate aesthetic effect (which approaches the effect of glass), ensuring robustness to the roofing and, above all, containing construction costs.
Advantages
The transparent corrugated sheets made by Sandrini Metalli have countless qualities, including high transparency (depending on the material), high resistance to impacts and atmospheric agents, including UV rays.
The main advantages of choosing a transparent sheet for your roofing are:
Extremely simple processing and installation;
High degree of transparency;
Excellent impact resistance;
Good resistance to weathering;
High moisture resistance;
High resistance to chemicals.
Types of transparent sheets
Depending on the roofing needs, the geographical location and the conditions in which the sheet will have to be installed, we provide our customers with different solutions:
Compact polycarbonate corrugated sheets;
Fibreglass corrugated sheet;
Multiwall polycarbonate corrugated sheets;
Multiwall polycarbonate sheets;
Each sheet can be made in different models, with more or less high ribs, to adapt to flat or curved roofing. Thanks to their versatility, transparent sheets can be used in both civil and industrial construction and are supplied in transparent panels ready for application.
Some applications of transparent corrugated sheets
Transparent corrugated sheets, in polycarbonate or fiberglass, represent an efficient solution for the natural lighting of buildings, because they make the most of sunlight to create bright environments. These sheets are aesthetically similar to glass but less fragile, as they absorb impacts from atmospheric agents (e.g. hail) more elastically, and are easier and cheaper to replace if necessary.
They find ideal use in many sectors, including industrial and recreational, where it is essential to balance aesthetics and functionality.
In addition to promoting considerable energy savings by reducing dependence on artificial lighting during daylight hours, these corrugated profiles are highly customisable and can be integrated into different architectural styles thanks to their versatility. The corrugated sheets in polycarbonate or fiberglass also make it possible to maintain an excellent thermal insulation and protection from atmospheric agents, thus contributing to the energy performance, interior comfort and sustainability of the building.

Compact polycarbonate corrugated sheets
Compact polycarbonate sheets boast excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties, as well as excellent fire and impact resistance thanks to their elasticity.
They are protected on the external side by a special UV-resistant treatment to increase their durability.
Curved R3500 mm or R6000 mm compact polycarbonate sheets are also available on request.

Fibreglass corrugated sheet
Fiberglass sheets are composed of glass fibers and thermosetting resin.
They boast excellent mechanical and translucent properties, besides having the important characteristic of being able to be used even in the most corrosive environments, where other transparent materials could not be used.
Generally, the offered slabs are characterized by the weight of 1.6 kg/m2.
It is possible to supply stronger and more resistant sheets, i.e. with higher density and special protections according to the type of application.
Upon request, R3500 mm or R6500 mm curved fiberglass sheets are also available.

Multiwall polycarbonate corrugated sheets
Multiwall polycarbonate corrugated sheets are ideal for covering greenhouses and skylights, as well as for industrial cladding. They are also used in various do-it-yourself applications.
They are protected on the external side by a special UV-resistant treatment to increase their durability.
Thanks to the air spaces that are formed inside the hollow core slabs, they have high thermal insulation capacity and therefore energy saving.
Curved R3500 mm or R6000 mm compact polycarbonate sheets are also available on request.
Multiwall polycarbonate corrugated sheets are always supplied with heat-sealed ends.

Multiwall polycarbonate sheets
Multiwall polycarbonate sheets are generally used for roofing, ceilings, glazing or windows. Thanks to the air cavities that are formed inside the multiwall sheets, they have a high thermal insulation capacity and therefore energy saving.
Two different types of multiwall sheets are available in different thicknesses: traditional flat sheets (supplied with a special polycarbonate joint) and tongue-and-groove sheets, which are often preferred for their installation advantages.
On request, the Multiwall sheets can be supplied heat-sealed or taped with special aluminium tape to seal the Multiwalls.
