Eclipse

A tribute to mutability, to the cyclical rhythm of nature and to the strength born from contrast between light and darkness.

Eclipse is the third profile of Sandrini Metalli’s SANDcustom service.

Between earth and sky

Eclipse is the meeting point between what changes and what remains, between the solidity of matter and the lightness of time.
Here, metal is not merely cladding but light memory: it preserves traces of the light that passes through it, reflecting the landscape and becoming part of it.

Every surface tells of a transition, every reflection of a moment — like the lunar phases chasing each other across the sky, marking the invisible rhythm of life.

In this suspended balance, architecture becomes breath, a dialogue between earth and sky, between presence and absence, between silence and glow.

Eclipse does not represent the end of a cycle, but the beginning of a new movement: an invitation to observe, to transform, and to shine with renewed light.

Eclipse house

Eclipse House reveals itself in daylight as a crater carved into the landscape, silent but magnetic.

It is at night, under the moonlight, that its geometry turns into a celestial reflection, and matter becomes silent to let the light emerge

Its metallic shell wraps the space in a circular embrace: it reflects the Icelandic landscape on the outside, preserves the quiet on the inside. Light filters in like a partial eclipse — it goes in, softens, multiplies on curved surfaces to create a suspended, almost sacral atmosphere. In this dialogue between shadow and brightness, between inside and outside, Eclipse House becomes a place for introspection and contemplation. Metal, shaped like moonstone, merges with the land that welcomes it, completing the cycle of every eclipse: to appear, to fade, to be reborn
